How do you do a weekly review of your tarot readings?

Published on

A weekly tarot review is a short session, ten to fifteen minutes, where you reread the notes from the past seven days, notice what repeated, what held true and what did not, and choose an intention for the following week. It works like an honest conversation with your own history.

Why look at the whole week, not just today's card

A single card of the day often feels vague. When you lay seven cards side by side, themes show up that were not visible on any one day, like a tiredness that keeps returning or a decision you have been putting off.

The review also protects you from a common habit: remembering only the readings that “got it right” and forgetting the ones that matched nothing. Rereading everything at once gives a fairer picture.

A fifteen-minute routine

Pick a fixed day, such as Sunday evening, and keep your journal open. In the site's journal (/diario) you can see your saved readings, the notes you wrote and the card that appeared most, which already gives you a starting point for the conversation.

Read in chronological order, with no rush to reach a conclusion. Then answer the questions below in writing, in one or two sentences each.

  • Which card or theme caught my attention most this week?
  • Did the card match what I lived on any day? And was there a day it matched nothing at all?
  • What did I feel during most of my readings: curiosity, fear, hurry?
  • What is one small thing I want to carry into next week?

Choose a small intention

End the review with a concrete, modest intention, for example “talk to my brother about the trip” or “go to bed early three nights.” Intentions that are too big turn into pressure and make the practice feel heavy.

If you like, draw a card for that intention and read it as an invitation to reflect, not as a guarantee of results. Write the card down in your journal so you can find it in the next review.

When to skip the review

If the week was hard and rereading the cards only brings distress, skip it. The review is meant to clear your head, not to feed rumination.

If those heavy moments become frequent, it is worth talking to someone you trust or to a psychologist. Tarot can help you reflect, but it does not replace professional care.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to have read tarot every day to do the weekly review?
No. Even with two or three readings in the week, the review works. What matters is rereading attentively what you recorded.
What is the best day for a weekly review?
The day you usually get a breather, like Sunday evening or Friday afternoon. Pick a fixed time so it becomes a routine.
Can the review replace next week's reading?
It does not have to. The review looks back, while a new reading looks at a current question. Many people do both in sequence, but one does not exclude the other.

Educational content, for reflection. Tarot does not replace medical, legal or financial advice.
