Symbolism
A woman in an olive-green flounced dress, a red shawl and a flowered hat stands with her hands pressed together at her chest and her gaze lost in the distance. She is alone in the scene, with no one around her. The card stands for missing someone and the distance that separates loved ones.
- Meaning
- Absence speaks of someone or something that is not present: a distant person, an interrupted contact or an empty space that weighs. The challenge is to handle the longing without letting it freeze the rest of your life. Next to another card, it shows what is missing or far away in that matter.
- Love
- There is physical or emotional distance between people, or the absence of a loved one is felt. Keep in touch warmly and talk about what is missing instead of keeping the longing to yourself.
- Work & money
- It can point to a short-staffed team, lost contact with clients or a project stalled for lack of someone. Financially, it asks for attention to what is missing and a plan to fill the gap.
- As a person
- Someone who is far away, who has travelled or who has withdrawn.
- Advice
- Keep the bonds alive with messages and gestures, even from afar.
