# The World tarot card meaning

> The World is one of the 22 Major Arcana in tarot. Upright, it speaks of completion, fulfillment and integration. Reversed, it points to incompletion, delay and lack of closure. In yes-or-no questions it leans toward yes.

- **Number:** Major Arcana (21)
- **Element:** Earth
- **Astrology:** Saturn
- **Yes or no:** Yes

## Symbolism

A figure dances at the center of a great laurel wreath, holding two wands, wrapped in a cloth that hints at infinity. In the four corners appear the creatures of the Tetramorph (angel, eagle, lion and bull), the four elements and the fixed signs brought together. The dance is the completeness of one who has integrated every lesson. The number 21 closes the Fool's Journey: completion and new beginning.

## Affirmation

> I celebrate the path I have walked and feel whole for what comes next.

## Upright meaning

**Keywords:** completion, fulfillment, integration, wholeness, travel

- **General:** The World marks the completion of a major cycle, with the fullness of one who has arrived and integrated what was learned. It is time to acknowledge the journey, celebrate and feel whole. The card also speaks of opening to the world, travel and wider horizons. Closing this cycle well prepares the start of the next.

- **Love:** Emotional fulfillment, mature relationships and a sense of being whole with or without the other. As a couple, it can indicate a full union or a major milestone. If single, you are at peace with yourself and open to a love that adds.

- **Work & money:** Completion of important projects, achievements, recognition and international possibilities. Reap the fruits of long effort and plan the next step. Consolidated success in career and finances.

- **Advice:** Acknowledge how far you have come and celebrate. Close the cycle with gratitude before moving on to the next.

## Reversed meaning

**Keywords:** incompletion, delay, lack of closure, stagnation, almost there

- **General:** Reversed, the World indicates a cycle nearly complete but with something missing: loose ends, delays or fear of ending and beginning again. There may be perfectionism that prevents you from calling something done. Fulfillment is near, but it asks for a last effort or emotional closure. Complete what remains.

- **Love:** Something unresolved prevents fullness: an unspoken matter, an old cycle poorly closed. As a couple, the relationship may be "almost there" but lacking one adjustment. If single, close emotionally with the past before opening up.

- **Work & money:** Projects dragging at the finish, goals nearly reached or fear of ending a phase. List what is missing and finish. Pay attention to formal closure, such as contracts and deadlines.

- **Advice:** List what is left to finish and resolve one pending item at a time. Allow yourself to close without perfection.
